17 May

Today is the day Baby Jones was due to enter the world….That’s right! I’m 40 weeks!
However, there is no baby…. He’s kicking, flipping, and moving all around, he just has not made his entrance into the world.

I know it’s been awhile Friends… I was hoping that I could keep you up to date with what is going on in my life, but the reality is,
with pregnancy and working full time, it’s simply tough. I found myself coming home to not writing in a blog, but a nice comfy couch screaming for me to put my feet up (and that’s what I did).
I’ve been a trooper throughout this whole pregnancy though. I’ve dealt with things like:

Sciatica (something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy if I had one)
Carpal Tunnel (IN BOTH HANDS) OUCH!
Inability to eat Fish (it makes me feel super sick)
Nausea (really bad for the first 3 months and sometimes randomly)
Urinary Infections (Helloooo Cranberry Juice!)

Let’s not add the fact that simple things and people would get on my nerves and it wasn’t even their fault. (I was simply just pregnant :0 )

One thing I think I’ve done well is managed to be a pretty put together preggo lady. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, but once I did, you couldn’t tell me anything! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve seen some of these!

Check out some of my favorite pregnant style moments:

25 weeks and rockin red!

35 weeks

Baby Shower

I’ve made an effort to keep myself still stylish and still feeling beautiful. I’m not exactly sure how I did it, but I think I made up in my mind that just because I was pregnant, that didn’t mean I had to let myself go, and not put forth any effort. I would wobble down to Target, Motherhood Maternity, and Destination Maternity, and find the cutest clothes. I also found some super comfy flats and sneakers (I wore with everything).I would style my hair cute, put on some eye shadow and lip gloss and finish it off with a smile 🙂
In the end, I think it is what has helped me embrace this journey  and handle it like a rockstar (of course with swollen feet and everything 🙂

So today, I am celebrating making it to 40 weeks, but also knowing that the baby could come at anytime. I couldn’t tell you exactly how I feel right now since my emotions are all over the place.. What I can tell you, is that it has been an interesting journey, and I can’t wait to introduce everyone to our baby boy 🙂

Fall Fashion & Fun

15 Oct

I’m so excited to be a part of Arkansas Women Blogger’s Blogtober Fest this week!

As a part of this challenge, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite Fall things!
I love Fall as I have mentioned in previous posts, because it’s such a beautiful time where the leaves start changing in beautiful hues of golds, reds, and browns.  Not to mention, my house is already filled with earth tone decor, so I get to add a touch of Fall with pumpkins, leaves, cute little scarecrows and a beautiful wreath for the door. My favorite thing about Fall is the change in weather because it allows me to bring out some of my favorite sweaters, boots, and so much more!!

I am so happy that I have been able to pull out my fabulous boots but I’m alwaays looking for more! Check out these Fabulous Boots I’ve been looking at:

These boots are so fabulous and can be purchased from Joyfolie for 225 bucks! They are genuwine leather and just darling! I’ve always like Joyfolie because of the adorable clothes they make for little girls. That’s right! You can sport a pair of these babies and your little lady can sport her own fabulous little pair of boots!

For those of you who may want to find a cute boot but at a more affordable cost, check out these sexy boots on sale for $59.70 at http://www.6pm.com!

But enough about boots! I’m also super excited to pull out some of the scarves in my collection!!! I’m hoping to add some more scarves, maybe these nice ones from Savvy Chicks E. Boutique ~

Who knows what I will add! I just love this weather and I like looking stylish in it as well!!! Fall is so much fun and so is all the Fashion involved! What Fall Fashions have you found? What do you plan to add to your wardrobe? I would love to know!!

Well that is it for now! I will be with you all week sharing some fabulous posts for this October Fest! Hope you enjoy!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Great Finds

24 Sep

Hey Good People!

I’ve been busy traveling a little here and there and it’s been a bit crazy but we’ve had a little fun in between!

My husband and I traveled to see his best friend get married! Wasn’t she a beautiful bride?

I finally had the chance to wear my MUST HAVE dress from Banana Republic! When I first saw the dress in the window, I KNEW, I had to have it! My husband has a Banana Republic Card, and due to that he gets a lot of great savings! I think after all of the savings the dress only cost about 70 bucks!!!! It’s such a great quality dress and what can I say, I love it! Having a Banana Republic card TRULY pays off!

I thought a purple gold smokey eye would be perfect for the event! I was super psyched a few weeks ago to find a fabulous lip color that I just had to have! It was from Kiss New York, and a found it in a hair store for about 3 bucks!!!! It really made my total look pop!

Kiss “Magenta” Lipstick

This was after the event, so excuse me if I look kind of tired in the picture! I just had to show you how great this lip color is! I will be going back to try out even more!

On Sunday, the hubby and I walked around the Galleria in Dallas, TX. We really didn’t purchase anything, but I did get to try out Bath & Body Work’s Fabulous  Lip Gloss from C.O. Bigelow! I love their  Mentha Shimmer Tint in Pearl Mint! It gives a pretty gloss and it was only 7.50!!! Right now, Bath & Body Works has the buy 2 get one free, so I purchased one chapstick (for men) for my husband, and also received the Rose Salve by C.O. Bigelow. I find that it works great on elbows, and lips if need be (I know, weird combo!)

Well that is it for now friends!

It has been such a lovely weekend, but now I’m battling a cold (NO FUN)!

I hope you all are doing well and get to try out some of the great finds in this post!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

W.O.W. Post- And Another One!

15 Aug

This past Monday, I had a little pity party at work.
You know how it is, you go on vacation, eat great food, don’t work out (at least I didn’t) and the scale moves and you want to throw it through the window!
(Don’t worry I didn’t!)

Well after talking to my co workers, it seems they were having some of the same issues that people typically have when they are trying to lose weight and be healthy…

“I’m tired”
“I’m not motivated”
“Nothing Works”
“I have to get my eating together”
“I don’t have time”
“I have children to take care of”

Trust me…. I know.. There are so many reasons (excuses my hubby would say)
that it may be a bit difficult to workout, but what we have to do is find a reason TO workout and stick to it. You know?

With all of the discussions, we have decided to have a 90 day challenge.

There are 4 of us, and for the next 90 days we have committed to:

-Workout at least 3 times a week
(for me I’m going to aim for 4)
-Drink at least 64 oz of water a day
-Stay within our eating range -weight watchers, caloric intake, etc.
(for me I am going to eat no more than 1700 calories a day)
-Monday Meetings- to check progress

It may not seem like a lot, but this is a small step in the right direction and it will help to keep each other motivated. We have a big fat piggy bank that we are  all trying to win for the person with the most stars!

Yes we have a star chart like we are in elementary school (Thanks Mel!)

Snapshot of the Chart

This chart is really massive and has everyone’s name on it as well as the goals, and measurements, weight loss, and blood pressure!

90 Day Challenge Chart

We all have our individual personal goals that we are trying to achieve, but I think us working together will help us even more! I also believe that by working together, that we can start developing our own great personal habits! I’m really into fitness, it is the food thing I’m trying to get down pat, and I know with time it will!

So what are your goals? How is your weight loss going? Do you have any suggestions? I’m open to hear it and I would love too!

Until Next Time Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ

P.S.- I’m feeling fabulous and summery today!

Top-Target Skirt- Old Navy Shoes- Clarks (so comfy and cute!)

Also, I got to try out some of the Concrete Mineral Eye Shadows!
I love this stuff!

26 Apr

Yep, that’s right.
I survived my husbands workout yesterday.
It was tough, it was cruel, but I managed to push through it!
It included a very short distance run (that took my breath away)
and some serious total body circuit training.
So YES! I woke up sore, but I worked hard. There were times I wanted to quit yesterday and even times I thought about cheating, but then I realized I would be cheating myself, and I think that’s the worst. I made it through and plan to do it next week as well. It’s always good to add something into your workout, and my husband (even though I hate admitting it), knows what he is doing.

With such a great workout yesterday, I thought I’d get quite cute today and wear a dress I haven’t worn in quite some time!
Whatcha think?

When I first put this dress on, it was rather tight, but now it fits great!!! As you see, I’m still growing my hair out, and doing everything I can to be my fabulous self! What about you all? Do you have a favorite style? Dress? I’d love to hear more about it!!!!

Well that’s it for now! Just wanted to drop in a line, to let you know about the workout with the hubby and more of my commitment to myself!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love 🙂

Feelin Good This Spring Day :)

5 Apr

I think the title best sums up how I feel right now.

I’ve been feelin great lately (minus a few aches and pains from Zumba).
I’ve been taking more time and effort and truly loving myself.

What does that mean?
That means truly putting effort into finding something to wear in the morning. Using my face as a canvas to create beautiful and fun eye shadow looks.
Using great products on my skin as a treat so that my skin remains moisturized and so that I can look my best.
Attempting to be healthy and fit.

I’ve committed to it, and I thank you my friends for being a part of this journey. For allowing me to be on this journey to be the best Mrs.SPJ I can be.
Call me corny if you would like, but I think it makes me pretty awesome 🙂
I truly appreciate you allowing me to share my picture with you all yesterday. It was a pretty difficult thing to do because I look at that before picture, and I see everything that I don’t EVER wanna go back to. I don’t ever just want to let myself go to the point where food has become more of an enemy than my friend.  I don’t ever just want to let myself go again.  In fact, I’ve made a commitment to myself to treat myself as I would like to be treated! Let’s just hope and pray I can keep up with it, and stay accountable. I think it is important to find a way to make sure you are keeping a commitment to yourself. This blog allows me to do so and I love how it has grown and evolved into something bigger than me. I am so appreciative that you allow me to share my little quirky stories, my faith, my makeup tips, my food journeys, and overall my life! You have helped me grow into myself and I’m so thankful you continue to take this journey with me! I hope you will continue!

On a side note, I keep getting awesome comments on my outfit today! I tried to brighten up a little bit and so I have on a bright green shirt with a darker green undershirt. Also, who could go wrong with denim pants? I love them! You like?

I decided  I decided to go with a bright orange, pink, yellow, and green eye look. Whatcha think?

Might I add, I’m really loving my new earrings? I keep seeing these basketball wives earrings popping up, but they are just too big and gaudy for me. So when I found a smaller earring with a pop of color, I jumped on them! Let me add that I’m super duper in love with them!!!

Well folks, that’s it for now! Your girl is feeling great and free! Hope you are too!
This song sums up my feelings in a few minutes 🙂

Until Next Time, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Ms. Crimson & More!

27 Mar

Say Hello to my little friend….

Ms. Crimson

That’s Right! I said goodbye to my lil old Honda, and said HELLO to my new car, which I like to call, “Crimson”. I had a bit of an anxiety attack because I wasn’t expecting to get my car soon, but I’m super glad that I did! She rides smoothly, comfortably, and doesn’t give me any of the problems I started to experience with my old Honda. It was time for me to get a new car not only for my safety, but also so that whenever a Lil Jones comes in to play (no time soon), I had enough room for a baby and all the bells and whistles they come with (ha ha, just kidding.) I am so happy about my new car, and like my hubby said, the first time I sat in the car, I fell in love with it. I wasn’t planning on getting a car in the red family, but I’m kinda glad that I did 🙂

Other than a car this weekend, I got a chance to  dabble in some makeup! Ladies, let me tell you, Primer can do so much for makeup! Do you have an eye shadow that you wish was a bit different? Maybe more vibrant or sheer? Primer and knowing the right tips and techniques can change it all for you!!! Take Spectrum Cosmetic’s Pacific. A very beautiful Vibrant blue.

Spectrum Cosmetics Pacific 3g ($3) 5g($5)

Now check out how I was able to manipulate Pacific:

Pacific with: 1(NYX Primer) 2(FOILED w/contact solution) 3(Too Faced Shadow Insurance) 4(Dry)

First off, I tried a new Primer that only costs me about 6-7 bucks (super cheap in the world of primer, lol) and it was an NYX primer that promised to make any eye shadow super vibrant! I’m HIGHLY satisfied! It definitely does the job and you can see how vibrant it made the eye shadow! It goes on white and you can’t even tell! Secondly, you can get a mixing medium, I chose to use good ol contact solution and put a drop or two on a palette and mix it with a good amount of mineral eye shadow and you can cause a foiled look! Isn’t it awesome? You have to play around with it to get a good consistency but it doesn’t take long. If you want more info on that, check out XSparkage’s  (love her! ) video tutorial on foiling (using eye shadow wet).

Third is what I typically use most, it’s the Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance that definitely makes your makeup last!!!! I love it, and I don’t think this picture even gives it justice!!! See what it looks like blended with other colors using that primer:

Pacific blends nicely with the other colors and pops with the Too Faced Eye Shadow Primer

Last but not least is simply the eye shadow by itself. The great thing about Spectrum is that these colors are so vibrant anyways, Primer just makes them pop! The colors are also long-lasting. Check out a new spring color I purchased from Spectrum Cosmetics and how different the primer makes the eye shadow , In Bloom,  look:

1 (Foiled) 2(NYX Primer) 3(TF Eye Shadow Ins. Primer) 4 (Dry)

SEE! It’s awesome! I’m now going to just start really using primer to manipulate eye shadows although i love all of Spectrum’s colors the way they are, why not have fun with them?

Today, I opted for a Spring Look with some of my new colors and I’m quite happy with what I ended up with! I used the following colors with NYX Primer and NYX  Gloss in the color of Golden Red!

I think my NY & Co Butterfly scarf  brings out everything!!! LOVE IT!!

That’s it for now! Do you have any trendy makeup tricks? Do you love primer as much as I do? What is your go to fun spring look? It’s time to bring out the colors and have some fun!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

P.S.- Isn’t the NYX Lip Gloss FABULOUS?!?!!?
