Fall Fashion & Fun

15 Oct

I’m so excited to be a part of Arkansas Women Blogger’s Blogtober Fest this week!

As a part of this challenge, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite Fall things!
I love Fall as I have mentioned in previous posts, because it’s such a beautiful time where the leaves start changing in beautiful hues of golds, reds, and browns.  Not to mention, my house is already filled with earth tone decor, so I get to add a touch of Fall with pumpkins, leaves, cute little scarecrows and a beautiful wreath for the door. My favorite thing about Fall is the change in weather because it allows me to bring out some of my favorite sweaters, boots, and so much more!!

I am so happy that I have been able to pull out my fabulous boots but I’m alwaays looking for more! Check out these Fabulous Boots I’ve been looking at:

These boots are so fabulous and can be purchased from Joyfolie for 225 bucks! They are genuwine leather and just darling! I’ve always like Joyfolie because of the adorable clothes they make for little girls. That’s right! You can sport a pair of these babies and your little lady can sport her own fabulous little pair of boots!

For those of you who may want to find a cute boot but at a more affordable cost, check out these sexy boots on sale for $59.70 at http://www.6pm.com!

But enough about boots! I’m also super excited to pull out some of the scarves in my collection!!! I’m hoping to add some more scarves, maybe these nice ones from Savvy Chicks E. Boutique ~

Who knows what I will add! I just love this weather and I like looking stylish in it as well!!! Fall is so much fun and so is all the Fashion involved! What Fall Fashions have you found? What do you plan to add to your wardrobe? I would love to know!!

Well that is it for now! I will be with you all week sharing some fabulous posts for this October Fest! Hope you enjoy!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Great Finds

24 Sep

Hey Good People!

I’ve been busy traveling a little here and there and it’s been a bit crazy but we’ve had a little fun in between!

My husband and I traveled to see his best friend get married! Wasn’t she a beautiful bride?

I finally had the chance to wear my MUST HAVE dress from Banana Republic! When I first saw the dress in the window, I KNEW, I had to have it! My husband has a Banana Republic Card, and due to that he gets a lot of great savings! I think after all of the savings the dress only cost about 70 bucks!!!! It’s such a great quality dress and what can I say, I love it! Having a Banana Republic card TRULY pays off!

I thought a purple gold smokey eye would be perfect for the event! I was super psyched a few weeks ago to find a fabulous lip color that I just had to have! It was from Kiss New York, and a found it in a hair store for about 3 bucks!!!! It really made my total look pop!

Kiss “Magenta” Lipstick

This was after the event, so excuse me if I look kind of tired in the picture! I just had to show you how great this lip color is! I will be going back to try out even more!

On Sunday, the hubby and I walked around the Galleria in Dallas, TX. We really didn’t purchase anything, but I did get to try out Bath & Body Work’s Fabulous  Lip Gloss from C.O. Bigelow! I love their  Mentha Shimmer Tint in Pearl Mint! It gives a pretty gloss and it was only 7.50!!! Right now, Bath & Body Works has the buy 2 get one free, so I purchased one chapstick (for men) for my husband, and also received the Rose Salve by C.O. Bigelow. I find that it works great on elbows, and lips if need be (I know, weird combo!)

Well that is it for now friends!

It has been such a lovely weekend, but now I’m battling a cold (NO FUN)!

I hope you all are doing well and get to try out some of the great finds in this post!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Ny & Co Fabulous Look

23 Jul

Hey Friends!

I know, I know, It’s Monday! How Exciting!
(Insert Sarcasm here)

I got to do some shopping in one of my favorite stores, New York & Company!!!
When I first tried on this dress, my best friend said that it did nothing for me, and it hid my curves…

I agreed, but didn’t want to give up hope yet… So I put my brain and inner fashionista to work.

I purchased this Fabulous wide belt from New York & Company also for about 5 bucks when they were having one of those amazing sales that I’m always talking about. Now ladies, if you have curves, but are scared of dresses, DON’T BE! Belts are your friend! They help define curves and your shape, when a dress does not. Check me out now!

I love how the outfit looked all put together! NY & Co Belt, Dress, and YES even earrings! I love these earrings! They are flat silver round earrings that I happen to have in both silver and gold! I think they just help the outfit stand out! My total outfit minus the shoes, and necklace, totaled 32 bucks!!! The dress wasn’t even 18 dollars after the sale! You can’t beat that! Although I bought the items at different times, they went together perfectly! To top it all off, I decided to wear the new shoes my hubby got me from Dillards. They were $49.99 on sale. Whatcha think?

I love the style of them and the different textures and it just overall fit with my whole outfit!

It’s all about how you shop! You have to find places that work for you, and items that work for you. You also have to know not only where to shop, but when! I just went this weekend, and purchased two amazing pair of jeans for 60 bucks! They always have great prices and very cute items! Someone once told me, that they were expensive, and I think I  gave them the side eye. They have great deals, if you know how to shop! My fav store, NY & Co was having buy one get one 75% off! They are still having the sale, and it didn’t hurt that I had an amazing coupon to go along with it! I think It was 50 off of 100 dollar purchase! One reason, I love being a rewards card member!!!

Also along with my outfit, I decided to rock a bit of a golden smoky look.. I think it turned out pretty good? Whatcha think?

I decided to use my Concrete Minerals  shadow! I am now a rep for the company, so let me know if you are interested in purchasing any products! I have them featured right here on my blog site!

Well that’s it for now friends! I just wanted to share with you some great deals and a fabulous look for less!
Do you have a store that helps you stay fabulous looking? Tell me all about it!!

Until Next Time, Mrs. SPJ

P.S. – I do not get paid by NY & Co, I just love them that much! My whole closet is practically filled with their clothing!

Tired Tuesday, 2

1 May

New York & Co Fun!

Why is it that when I come to you all on Tuesday I’m just plain tired?
Is it because I do so much?
Or is it simply because Saturday and Sundays are typically rest days from working out, and Monday is my day back?
My friend  (and zumba instructor), Julie typically kicks booty especially on Mondays, it’s like she’s saying, “COME ON LET’S GET IN SHAPE”!
That’s what I love about her!
She even encouraged me to continue to wear shorts although I HATE my legs. 🙂

I’m continuing to work hard, but don’t get me wrong, I still have the things I love from time to time! For example, on Friday I got to have CHEESE DIP! I loveeeeee Mexican Cheese Dip but it is something I can’t indulge in often due to what it does to my waistline! I worked this weekend, but made sure not to eat anything too crazy! I actually made some delicious Chicken Tortellini. It is definitely one of those indulging recipes, but I made sure I made room for it! You see, there is nothing wrong with indulging here and there as long as you are careful with the other choices you make.

Chicken Tortellini was rather simple and delicious! I simply seasoned some chicken, breaded it using milk, italian seasonings, and some cheese! I then made some broccoli and cheese, and boiled some cheese filled tortellini! Can we say DELIGHTFUL!?!?

If you want a recipe, and want to try it yourself, you should! It’s rather easy and inexpensive!!! Check out the recipe I used below 🙂                                   Chicken Tortellini Recipe

You know I love sharing things with you all!

I swear I love food, and I love fashion as well! I got some really great deals at New York & Company (I practically live in that store) Just check out what I purchased below:

New York & Co. Fun!

Thats 2 beautiful summer scarves, some skinny jeans, two classic shirts for work, and then some city cash to go along with that! My total was about 55 bucks, and then to think I get $15 dollars that I can use to purchase something else that cost 30 dollars! Oh how I love city cash!

They always have great deals! Buy one get one half off, 40% markdowns, 50% sales, you just have to go and see what’s out there! I’m all about fashion but finding it affordable! Just wanted you to know they are having a really great sale now, that you should take advantage of!

Today, since I’m rocking black and grey, I thought one of the scarves I purchased would give me just the right amount of splash of color!
Of course, I used the scarf as inspiration for my eye shadow look! It’s a mixture of greens and turquoise from Spectrum Cosmetics!!! You know I can’t get enough of that makeup either!

With that being said, what is one of your favorite recipes? What is your go to spring look?

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Ms. Crimson & More!

27 Mar

Say Hello to my little friend….

Ms. Crimson

That’s Right! I said goodbye to my lil old Honda, and said HELLO to my new car, which I like to call, “Crimson”. I had a bit of an anxiety attack because I wasn’t expecting to get my car soon, but I’m super glad that I did! She rides smoothly, comfortably, and doesn’t give me any of the problems I started to experience with my old Honda. It was time for me to get a new car not only for my safety, but also so that whenever a Lil Jones comes in to play (no time soon), I had enough room for a baby and all the bells and whistles they come with (ha ha, just kidding.) I am so happy about my new car, and like my hubby said, the first time I sat in the car, I fell in love with it. I wasn’t planning on getting a car in the red family, but I’m kinda glad that I did 🙂

Other than a car this weekend, I got a chance to  dabble in some makeup! Ladies, let me tell you, Primer can do so much for makeup! Do you have an eye shadow that you wish was a bit different? Maybe more vibrant or sheer? Primer and knowing the right tips and techniques can change it all for you!!! Take Spectrum Cosmetic’s Pacific. A very beautiful Vibrant blue.

Spectrum Cosmetics Pacific 3g ($3) 5g($5)

Now check out how I was able to manipulate Pacific:

Pacific with: 1(NYX Primer) 2(FOILED w/contact solution) 3(Too Faced Shadow Insurance) 4(Dry)

First off, I tried a new Primer that only costs me about 6-7 bucks (super cheap in the world of primer, lol) and it was an NYX primer that promised to make any eye shadow super vibrant! I’m HIGHLY satisfied! It definitely does the job and you can see how vibrant it made the eye shadow! It goes on white and you can’t even tell! Secondly, you can get a mixing medium, I chose to use good ol contact solution and put a drop or two on a palette and mix it with a good amount of mineral eye shadow and you can cause a foiled look! Isn’t it awesome? You have to play around with it to get a good consistency but it doesn’t take long. If you want more info on that, check out XSparkage’s  (love her! ) video tutorial on foiling (using eye shadow wet).

Third is what I typically use most, it’s the Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance that definitely makes your makeup last!!!! I love it, and I don’t think this picture even gives it justice!!! See what it looks like blended with other colors using that primer:

Pacific blends nicely with the other colors and pops with the Too Faced Eye Shadow Primer

Last but not least is simply the eye shadow by itself. The great thing about Spectrum is that these colors are so vibrant anyways, Primer just makes them pop! The colors are also long-lasting. Check out a new spring color I purchased from Spectrum Cosmetics and how different the primer makes the eye shadow , In Bloom,  look:

1 (Foiled) 2(NYX Primer) 3(TF Eye Shadow Ins. Primer) 4 (Dry)

SEE! It’s awesome! I’m now going to just start really using primer to manipulate eye shadows although i love all of Spectrum’s colors the way they are, why not have fun with them?

Today, I opted for a Spring Look with some of my new colors and I’m quite happy with what I ended up with! I used the following colors with NYX Primer and NYX  Gloss in the color of Golden Red!

I think my NY & Co Butterfly scarf  brings out everything!!! LOVE IT!!

That’s it for now! Do you have any trendy makeup tricks? Do you love primer as much as I do? What is your go to fun spring look? It’s time to bring out the colors and have some fun!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

P.S.- Isn’t the NYX Lip Gloss FABULOUS?!?!!?

SMOOCHES!

Green Stuff & More…

2 Feb

Today is going by really fast it seems.
I managed to get quite some work done this morning, and my request to pinterest was finally approved!
Let me just tell you, I’m already addicted!
My pins include everything from Makeup, Healthy Foods, Accessories, to Healthy Indulgences. I think I’ve found some pretty good things to add to my boards! If you want to check them out you can here:  MrzSpj

On another note, I’ve been trying to incorporate healthy foods into my life and recently told you all about starting Shakeology. Well I told you the chocolate one was pretty good and tasted like a Melted Milkshake. I still had yet to try the Greenberry flavor so I figured today would be a great day to do so! I wanted to eat lunch and I wanted something healthy and quick. I decided to go to the house and whip up some greenberry!

I simply added:

8 oz of Vanilla Almond Milk
3 tsp of Cinnamon (because I think it should be in everything!)
8 oz of Ice

I whipped it up in my lovely Ninja Blender that I love so much and here is what I ended up with:

Greenberry Shakeology

It seemed to have quite a creamy texture like the Chocolate one, and while the color may not seem so satisfying, I thought, well you know what, I said I’d try it so here it goes.  I took a sip, then another, and another. Wanna know what I thought?

Yep. That’s it down the drain getting ready to be completely out my life for good. For the record, I did drink a substantial amount so that I could make sure I was truly giving it a fair shot. It wasn’t the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted, but let me tell you, it wasn’t pleasant for me at all! I’m almost certain that this is what Grass would taste like with a little sugar… Who knows? Grass may tasted better than this! Whatever it is, this is not the shake for me. HOWEVER, I’ve heard some people say they enjoy it and have tried several different recipes to improve the taste. My only thing is, I don’t want to go through all of that. I just rather, drink the Chocolate one and go from there. I plan on drinking the Chocolate Shake for a month to see what results I get in my weight loss ventures. Don’t fret, I did eat a healthy lunch after this.

I opted for a honey ham on wheat with cheese and light mayo sandwhich. I added some green in there for an extra taste, and some Lays Baked Potato Chips.  I don’t believe in forbidding any foods from myself, just having them in moderation. YES I DID count out the potato chips to make sure that I was eating the serving size. Then there’s that OJ. What’s not to love about Orange Juice?

So there you have it. A Healthy lunch despite the fact I can still taste Greenberry slightly in my mouth! It’s okay though.  I look quite chic today and I’m feeling great so I won’t let the taste ruin my day. I’m even wearing my cute new Nini Flats from the company Me Too. I purchased them from DSW and they aren’t only cute but very very comfortable.  It costs$49 for them, and with an added coupon, they were even less than that! I’m excited about my new  flat!

Well that’s it for now folks! Remember, today and tomorrow until 12 central is the deadline to enter the Spectrum Cosmetics Giveaway! Again, all you have to do is LIKE Spectrum Cosmetics on Facebook, Follow My Blog, and Leave a Comment on the Giveaway Post and your entered!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂
