W.O.W. Post- And Another One!

15 Aug

This past Monday, I had a little pity party at work.
You know how it is, you go on vacation, eat great food, don’t work out (at least I didn’t) and the scale moves and you want to throw it through the window!
(Don’t worry I didn’t!)

Well after talking to my co workers, it seems they were having some of the same issues that people typically have when they are trying to lose weight and be healthy…

“I’m tired”
“I’m not motivated”
“Nothing Works”
“I have to get my eating together”
“I don’t have time”
“I have children to take care of”

Trust me…. I know.. There are so many reasons (excuses my hubby would say)
that it may be a bit difficult to workout, but what we have to do is find a reason TO workout and stick to it. You know?

With all of the discussions, we have decided to have a 90 day challenge.

There are 4 of us, and for the next 90 days we have committed to:

-Workout at least 3 times a week
(for me I’m going to aim for 4)
-Drink at least 64 oz of water a day
-Stay within our eating range -weight watchers, caloric intake, etc.
(for me I am going to eat no more than 1700 calories a day)
-Monday Meetings- to check progress

It may not seem like a lot, but this is a small step in the right direction and it will help to keep each other motivated. We have a big fat piggy bank that we are  all trying to win for the person with the most stars!

Yes we have a star chart like we are in elementary school (Thanks Mel!)

Snapshot of the Chart

This chart is really massive and has everyone’s name on it as well as the goals, and measurements, weight loss, and blood pressure!

90 Day Challenge Chart

We all have our individual personal goals that we are trying to achieve, but I think us working together will help us even more! I also believe that by working together, that we can start developing our own great personal habits! I’m really into fitness, it is the food thing I’m trying to get down pat, and I know with time it will!

So what are your goals? How is your weight loss going? Do you have any suggestions? I’m open to hear it and I would love too!

Until Next Time Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ

P.S.- I’m feeling fabulous and summery today!

Top-Target Skirt- Old Navy Shoes- Clarks (so comfy and cute!)

Also, I got to try out some of the Concrete Mineral Eye Shadows!

Quick & Fabulous!

16 Jul

Good Morning Friends!

I’ve gotta tell ya, it’s been one of those mornings.
I woke up kind of flustered and knew I would have to spend quite amount of time on my hair to make it look somewhat decent but time was not on my side…..

We’ve all had those days where time is limited, however we still want to look our best before we start our day! BirchBox, a company that offers a monthly subscription box,  created  a post on Facebook and simply asked,

“How do you keep your beauty simplified”?

Well on days like today, the timing of this question couldn’t be more appropriate!

I had exactly 40 minutes or less to get myself together!

As far as fashion, Black pants are my best friend (which is why I have about 3 pairs of them!)
A simple tee paired with black pants and comfy shoes are the quickest go to fashion for me! I love how chic and professional they look even when I feel a lil crazy on the inside!

After a shower and getting dressed, I still had about 30  minutes to spare..

I always make sure to hydrate my skin with a moisturizer particularly for dry skin. Lately, I’ve been on a Shea Butter Lotion kick.
(I LOVE IT!)

After putting a heat protectant on my hair and running my flat-iron through a few strands quickly (literally 10 minutes) It was on to beauty.

By now time is truly dwindling down, but I was still going to put my best face forward!
After putting a moisturizer on my face and using Too Face’s  Shadow insurance, primer, I used a few of my favorite products…

 MY BEAUTY STEPS:

BareMinerals Highshine Eye Color Applicator and Eyeko Eyeliner Tip

1. I started by sweeping BareMinerals High Shine Eyecolor in meteorite over my lids. The brush is already included so you don’t have to spend too much time here!

2. Take your favorite eye shadow  and with a small brush  sweep a vibrant color of your choice a lil  below the middle of your lid down to the lash line. I decided to use a nice teal/blue color from  Spectrum Cosmetics.
3. Take your favorite liner, and draw a  line  across to really help your eye shadow pop! Recently, I received the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner from Birchbox. I love it! It’s so easy to use! The best thing is, it has a pen tip and allows you to be very precise when applying!
4. Take some mascara and give those lashes some volume and length! I LOVE Buxom’s Mascara in Blackest Black and tend to use it the most!
5. Apply your favorite lip color. Right now, I’m really hooked to Buxom’s Big & Healthy Lip Creme in Purple Haze! It tingles, it shines, and the Vitamins A & E in keep your lips protected! It doesn’t hurt either that the Purple looks amazing with my skin color!
6. If you want too, apply foundation! I typically go for Mac’s Studio Tech because it’s smooth and applies like a cream. You also don’t need a lot to make it look good! Today I opted out for foundation. I like to take a break from it from time to time.

With these steps, you will have a beautiful glowing look that’s quite simplified!
I was very detailed here, but it doesn’t take much at all!In fact, just guess how long it took me?

LESS THAN 4 MINUTES!!!!

Beauty doesn’t have to take a lot of effort, you just have to want to do it!

There are products out there that can make your life so easy when it comes to makeup! Just because you don’t have the time, doesn’t mean you cannot have the look!!!!

I hope this post inspires you to take time for yourself, even if there isn’t a lot of time! You can still have a simple yet fabulous look, and the more you get in the routine of doing it, the easier it becomes!!!!

What are your simple beauty techniques? I love learning new tips and would love to see yours!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

All Smiles!

Beauty Pt 2

14 Jun

Hey Friends!

I totally didn’t think it would take this long for me to give you the rest of my thoughts on my obsession with not only things that involved the previous beauty weekend I had or just beautiful things in my life, but my life has been super duper busy and hectic , however I still love you all and therefore must bring you the rest of what I promised!

What have I been up to? Well part of my beauty weekend included this new nail polish I’m OBSESSED WITH!

Its a company called Del Sol! I stopped in their store while in San Antonio and found some Nail polish that changes in the sun! I love it! I purchased a beautiful pearl color and in the sun it turns pink (the glitter is a top cover)! Check me out!

Inside (No Sun 😦 )

Outside In the Sun!

Outside ( With Sun)

I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy about the sun in my life! When I first saw it working I got really excited because I didn’t think it would work as quick and as great as it does! I purchased a new Sephora glitter (that’s awesome) and I used that over my DelSol nail polish.

So exciting right? I also felt the need to buy more nail polish but listened to my hubby when he said why don’t you look at what you have at home first. Im’ so glad I listened to him. I told him I needed more pinks and guess what I found all in my nail stash?

Let’s just say I don’t need to buy any shade of pink for awhile! I’m so glad I decided to listen to him! I guess I need to step out of my zone a lil!!!

Also, you must check out Sephora! They are redoing some of their products and have a lot of items on sale! Look at the colors of some lovely eye shadows I checked out there only for 5 bucks!

Sephora Swatches

Yes, Go run to your Sephora store now! It also doesn’t hurt they have some great folks working there who are always willing to help!!!

Well that’s it for now folks!!!! I hope you have been having a great week! The last two weeks in June are going to be pretty crazy for me but I’m going to try my best to keep up with you guys! Make sure you check me out tomorrow, Ill be, I dunno, maybe hosting a GIVEAWAY!!!!! You DON’T want to miss!!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. Spj

P.S.
Note to self- One of my readers said I must try the Face Mask that came in the MyShadeofBrown pillow box. I will be trying that!!!

BH & Buxom, My Favs!

7 Jun

I’m loving BH Cosmetics  & Buxom Cosmetics right now!
I mean, we all know I love makeup, PERIOD, But lately I’ve really been using these two companies products the most.
Since I knew I was going to Texas, many of you may remember my post “Fired Up Tuesday“, where I said I wanted to take a Pallette that would fullfill my usual daily needs so I opted for the BH Cosmetics Party Girl Pallette. Everyday this pallette makes me fall in love with it even more! You can do natural looks, you can do vibrant looks, you can pretty much do whatever you want! The other day I did a really bright look that I LOVED with this pallette:

Golden Hot Look

I love how this look turned out! Today I wanted to do a shimmery look that was softer than this but still powerful! I love the look I went for today:

Shimmery Soft Pink

I actually used 3 colors to achieve this look with the BH Party Girl Pallette. I used a Soft Pink, Silver, and a pale teal color. The teal can be seen popping through the upper corner. Do you see it? I was so impressed with the look, I decided to add some black eye liner from Sephora, and add the finishing touches from Buxom Products!

Buxom Rocks!

Let me tell you, Buxom’s Blackest Black Mascara is amazing! I purchased this awesome mini kit that allowed me to try out some Lip Gloss (not pictured) and Mascara together! The kit was very reasonably priced (around 14.00 I believe) I’ve always wanted to try their mascara because my co worker, Ashten is always talking about how great it is. After so many bad experiences with it, I decided I would try the mini version. Let me tell you, IT’S AMAZING! It gives you length, it gives you volume,  and makes your eye shadow pop! I WILL be buying this in full size! As far as the lip gloss, I tried it on in the store and IMMEDIATELY was hooked. So I didn’t even want to try the lip gloss included in the kit (it’s awesome too) and even purchased an additional lip gloss (pictured). It’s described as:
” This bestselling, sparkling diamond lip polish instantly creates the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips with luminous shine. Vitamins A and E help keep lips soft, smooth, and protected while the tingling sensation reminds you that it’s working”

This lip gloss is all that and more and looks great on all skin tones! Check out my friend Ashten and I BOTH wearing the Buxom® Big & Healthy Lip Polish  in Liberty!

SEE! It just works! It feels so great on as well! So for those of you who wanted to know what makeup I’ve been using lately, and some looks I’ve been doing, I hope this helps! I am going to start making youtube videos eventually showcasing these looks since many of you have asked for it!!! If you ever have any questions or concerns, or would like for me to review a product, let me know and Ill see what I can do!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Weekend Notes

2 Apr

Hey Friends!

Ugh. That’s exactly how I feel this morning.
I had a great weekend though!
Between getting my hair done and doing a little shopping, it was quite pleasant!
I needed my hair done badly! So glad I finally went! We must all remember to take care of ourselves, and yes that includes our hair! I’m telling MYSELF that as well!!!

On another note, I recieved a LOT of compliments on my eye shadow yesterday!! I am always doing something with my makeup, but everyone seemed to like the look yesterday. I even had one lady say, it looks like a peacock look. What do you think?

Image

I have Maybelline’s Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in the color of Tenacious Teal all over my lid. I then went in and used Spectrum Cosmetic’s Shamrock across the tip of the lid. I then took my Sephora Purple Eye Pencil and used it in the corners. After applying everything, I blended it in and There you have it! It was rather easy and I was very thankful for all the compliments. You see for me, My accessory is makeup. I tend to have a rather simple style so makeup allows me to be a little crazy!

That’s it for now. I’ve picked up some Wailitin D! Hopefully, this will get to working and I can be back to my old self. We shall see!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Busy Week in Points!

30 Mar

Hey Friends!

Are you ready for the weekend like I am?
Today is just speeding by and I’m so glad that it is!
I’ve had some great moments this past week but I’ve been so busy
I haven’t even had a chance to share them with you!

 1. I had my Last CVM session, therefore I will be considered a CERTIFIED Volunteer Manager. It may not sound like much to you, but it’s a pretty awesome title to have!

2. I’ve been working out heavily doing Zumba and truly pushing myself. I had a great workout that included my friend Stacy! He typically doesn’t workout in the mornings but did this past week and it was awesome! Julie is always teaching the fly moves, but Stacy brings a boot camp aspect and he is just someone who typically goes like I do! Love his energy!
 Image

Speaking of Zumba, I also had a fabulous time the other night with my girls Jess and Katrina and actually went out to dinner with a few girls afterwards. Great food! Great conversation!

 Image

3. I got to spend time with my lovely chica, Monique! We were going to go out but the play we were going to was SOLD OUT! We opted for dinner and a little bit of shopping! It was cool because we both were wearing eye
shadow from Spectrum Cosmetics! Here is a snapshot of us after dinner! (Excuse the hair, it’s a little busted right now!)

 Image

I’ve been going for an eye shadow look without highlighting the brow and it’s pretty cool! Check out this vibrant look I opted for today:

 Image

I even opted to use the Lorac 3d Liquid Lustre to give my eye shadow a little pop!!! Check out how this stuff works… It’s pretty cool:

 Image

It gives you a bit of shine and pizazz to your eye shadow! It gave me a lil extra umph in my boring outfit today!

Well that’s been my week so far! I’m looking forward to a weekend of a little pampering at home. I may paint my nails, I’m definitely going to do something to this hair, and just RELAX!!! I’m also going to be watching this missing person’s case that’s been happening close to AR and wait and hopefully win that jackpot!
That’s right! A few co workers and I chipped in some money, Benson found a 4 leaf clover so he’s feeling pretty lucky! Let’s win that jackpot and split it!!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love

Have a good weekend folks!!!

Ms. Crimson & More!

27 Mar

Say Hello to my little friend….

Ms. Crimson

That’s Right! I said goodbye to my lil old Honda, and said HELLO to my new car, which I like to call, “Crimson”. I had a bit of an anxiety attack because I wasn’t expecting to get my car soon, but I’m super glad that I did! She rides smoothly, comfortably, and doesn’t give me any of the problems I started to experience with my old Honda. It was time for me to get a new car not only for my safety, but also so that whenever a Lil Jones comes in to play (no time soon), I had enough room for a baby and all the bells and whistles they come with (ha ha, just kidding.) I am so happy about my new car, and like my hubby said, the first time I sat in the car, I fell in love with it. I wasn’t planning on getting a car in the red family, but I’m kinda glad that I did 🙂

Other than a car this weekend, I got a chance to  dabble in some makeup! Ladies, let me tell you, Primer can do so much for makeup! Do you have an eye shadow that you wish was a bit different? Maybe more vibrant or sheer? Primer and knowing the right tips and techniques can change it all for you!!! Take Spectrum Cosmetic’s Pacific. A very beautiful Vibrant blue.

Spectrum Cosmetics Pacific 3g ($3) 5g($5)

Now check out how I was able to manipulate Pacific:

Pacific with: 1(NYX Primer) 2(FOILED w/contact solution) 3(Too Faced Shadow Insurance) 4(Dry)

First off, I tried a new Primer that only costs me about 6-7 bucks (super cheap in the world of primer, lol) and it was an NYX primer that promised to make any eye shadow super vibrant! I’m HIGHLY satisfied! It definitely does the job and you can see how vibrant it made the eye shadow! It goes on white and you can’t even tell! Secondly, you can get a mixing medium, I chose to use good ol contact solution and put a drop or two on a palette and mix it with a good amount of mineral eye shadow and you can cause a foiled look! Isn’t it awesome? You have to play around with it to get a good consistency but it doesn’t take long. If you want more info on that, check out XSparkage’s  (love her! ) video tutorial on foiling (using eye shadow wet).

Third is what I typically use most, it’s the Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance that definitely makes your makeup last!!!! I love it, and I don’t think this picture even gives it justice!!! See what it looks like blended with other colors using that primer:

Pacific blends nicely with the other colors and pops with the Too Faced Eye Shadow Primer

Last but not least is simply the eye shadow by itself. The great thing about Spectrum is that these colors are so vibrant anyways, Primer just makes them pop! The colors are also long-lasting. Check out a new spring color I purchased from Spectrum Cosmetics and how different the primer makes the eye shadow , In Bloom,  look:

1 (Foiled) 2(NYX Primer) 3(TF Eye Shadow Ins. Primer) 4 (Dry)

SEE! It’s awesome! I’m now going to just start really using primer to manipulate eye shadows although i love all of Spectrum’s colors the way they are, why not have fun with them?

Today, I opted for a Spring Look with some of my new colors and I’m quite happy with what I ended up with! I used the following colors with NYX Primer and NYX  Gloss in the color of Golden Red!

I think my NY & Co Butterfly scarf  brings out everything!!! LOVE IT!!

That’s it for now! Do you have any trendy makeup tricks? Do you love primer as much as I do? What is your go to fun spring look? It’s time to bring out the colors and have some fun!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

P.S.- Isn’t the NYX Lip Gloss FABULOUS?!?!!?
