Busy Week in Points!

30 Mar

Hey Friends!

Are you ready for the weekend like I am?
Today is just speeding by and I’m so glad that it is!
I’ve had some great moments this past week but I’ve been so busy
I haven’t even had a chance to share them with you!

 1. I had my Last CVM session, therefore I will be considered a CERTIFIED Volunteer Manager. It may not sound like much to you, but it’s a pretty awesome title to have!

2. I’ve been working out heavily doing Zumba and truly pushing myself. I had a great workout that included my friend Stacy! He typically doesn’t workout in the mornings but did this past week and it was awesome! Julie is always teaching the fly moves, but Stacy brings a boot camp aspect and he is just someone who typically goes like I do! Love his energy!

Speaking of Zumba, I also had a fabulous time the other night with my girls Jess and Katrina and actually went out to dinner with a few girls afterwards. Great food! Great conversation!

3. I got to spend time with my lovely chica, Monique! We were going to go out but the play we were going to was SOLD OUT! We opted for dinner and a little bit of shopping! It was cool because we both were wearing eye
shadow from Spectrum Cosmetics! Here is a snapshot of us after dinner! (Excuse the hair, it’s a little busted right now!)

I’ve been going for an eye shadow look without highlighting the brow and it’s pretty cool! Check out this vibrant look I opted for today:

 Image

I even opted to use the Lorac 3d Liquid Lustre to give my eye shadow a little pop!!! Check out how this stuff works… It’s pretty cool:

 Image

It gives you a bit of shine and pizazz to your eye shadow! It gave me a lil extra umph in my boring outfit today!

Well that’s been my week so far! I’m looking forward to a weekend of a little pampering at home. I may paint my nails, I’m definitely going to do something to this hair, and just RELAX!!! I’m also going to be watching this missing person’s case that’s been happening close to AR and wait and hopefully win that jackpot!
That’s right! A few co workers and I chipped in some money, Benson found a 4 leaf clover so he’s feeling pretty lucky! Let’s win that jackpot and split it!!!!

Until Next Time, Much Love

Have a good weekend folks!!!

Ms. Crimson & More!

27 Mar

Say Hello to my little friend….

Ms. Crimson

That’s Right! I said goodbye to my lil old Honda, and said HELLO to my new car, which I like to call, “Crimson”. I had a bit of an anxiety attack because I wasn’t expecting to get my car soon, but I’m super glad that I did! She rides smoothly, comfortably, and doesn’t give me any of the problems I started to experience with my old Honda. It was time for me to get a new car not only for my safety, but also so that whenever a Lil Jones comes in to play (no time soon), I had enough room for a baby and all the bells and whistles they come with (ha ha, just kidding.) I am so happy about my new car, and like my hubby said, the first time I sat in the car, I fell in love with it. I wasn’t planning on getting a car in the red family, but I’m kinda glad that I did 🙂

Other than a car this weekend, I got a chance to  dabble in some makeup! Ladies, let me tell you, Primer can do so much for makeup! Do you have an eye shadow that you wish was a bit different? Maybe more vibrant or sheer? Primer and knowing the right tips and techniques can change it all for you!!! Take Spectrum Cosmetic’s Pacific. A very beautiful Vibrant blue.

Spectrum Cosmetics Pacific 3g ($3) 5g($5)

Now check out how I was able to manipulate Pacific:

Pacific with: 1(NYX Primer) 2(FOILED w/contact solution) 3(Too Faced Shadow Insurance) 4(Dry)

First off, I tried a new Primer that only costs me about 6-7 bucks (super cheap in the world of primer, lol) and it was an NYX primer that promised to make any eye shadow super vibrant! I’m HIGHLY satisfied! It definitely does the job and you can see how vibrant it made the eye shadow! It goes on white and you can’t even tell! Secondly, you can get a mixing medium, I chose to use good ol contact solution and put a drop or two on a palette and mix it with a good amount of mineral eye shadow and you can cause a foiled look! Isn’t it awesome? You have to play around with it to get a good consistency but it doesn’t take long. If you want more info on that, check out XSparkage’s  (love her! ) video tutorial on foiling (using eye shadow wet).

Third is what I typically use most, it’s the Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance that definitely makes your makeup last!!!! I love it, and I don’t think this picture even gives it justice!!! See what it looks like blended with other colors using that primer:

Pacific blends nicely with the other colors and pops with the Too Faced Eye Shadow Primer

Last but not least is simply the eye shadow by itself. The great thing about Spectrum is that these colors are so vibrant anyways, Primer just makes them pop! The colors are also long-lasting. Check out a new spring color I purchased from Spectrum Cosmetics and how different the primer makes the eye shadow , In Bloom,  look:

1 (Foiled) 2(NYX Primer) 3(TF Eye Shadow Ins. Primer) 4 (Dry)

SEE! It’s awesome! I’m now going to just start really using primer to manipulate eye shadows although i love all of Spectrum’s colors the way they are, why not have fun with them?

Today, I opted for a Spring Look with some of my new colors and I’m quite happy with what I ended up with! I used the following colors with NYX Primer and NYX  Gloss in the color of Golden Red!

I think my NY & Co Butterfly scarf  brings out everything!!! LOVE IT!!

That’s it for now! Do you have any trendy makeup tricks? Do you love primer as much as I do? What is your go to fun spring look? It’s time to bring out the colors and have some fun!

Until Next Time, Much Love, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

P.S.- Isn’t the NYX Lip Gloss FABULOUS?!?!!?

Hair Update

22 Mar

Hey Friends!

I’m coming at you pretty excited because Today is my Friday at work! Yep, I don’t work tomorrow and plan on relaxing and enjoying myself!!! As far as today, I wanted to update you with my hair and then tomorrow, share with you some lovely beauty products I’ve been enjoying!

My Hair has been growing very healthy since I started taking Hairfinity. Just look for yourself:

Before Starting Hairfinity

Before Starting Hairfinity

Starting 2nd month of Hairfinity

Starting 3rd month of Hairfinity

I wish I had pictures where my part was on the same side so I can truly show you, but to keep hair healthy you should change it up from time to time (which I do!) I credit the Hairfinity Vitamins, a healthy hair regimen, and great products for my hair success! I’m still only a few days in to my 3rd bottle, and I’m very happy with my results. The Essentious line is wonderful right along with Hairfinity! I tell ya, I don’t get paid by any of these companies, and wanted to try all of these products ON MY OWN! I’m so happy that I did and look forward to hopefully purchasing more vitamins in the near future! I knew after my first hair results came in, that they would only continue to get better! Ladies, I can’t stress enough, how important it is to properly moisturize, wash, and condition your hair! It makes a difference!!

At one point, I even thought, maybe Ill go natural, but I don’t know. I don’t think that is for me right now. I’m enjoying the style and the feel of my hair. It has nothing to do with not accepting myself “naturally” but simply just loving my hair in its current state. It’s healthy, moisturized, and growing. I’m sure there will come a time where I will want to venture further into the world of Natural Hair, but for now, I’m just enjoying the process of growing it out! I’m using great products on my hair, and less heat (which makes a HUGE difference.)

What about you? What is your hair regimen? What is your go to style when it comes to hair? Let me know and share your thoughts! I’d love to hear them!!

Until Next Time, Mrs. SPJ 🙂

W.O.W. 12

21 Mar

I skipped last weeks Weight on Wednesday Post simply because I had a very rough week and was super busy at work! (I know, no excuses) However, I’m happy to report that I’ve lost 2 more pounds, and feeling quite slim. I’ve been very sore these last couple of days but I’ve really tried to improve my form when doing Zumba and push myself a bit harder. I am a bit concerned though because I’ve noticed I’m a lot tired lately, and I can’t figure out why.

Hopefully, soon I will get it together! In the meantime my husband has been cooking some fabulous healthy meals.

Atlantic Salmon, Brocolli, & Rice Pilaf

Image

Wheat Noodles with Shrimp & Tilapia in an Alfredo Sauce

I have been rather spoiled with my husband’s meals lately! Im typically not a fan of Salmon however he cooked it in a way that it was delicious! He steamed one piece, and baked the other with some spinach sauce on top. The Pasta dish was fantastic because instead of drenching the pasta in Alfredo sauce, he seasoned the tilapia and shrimp and added the alfredo sauce to the meat that way it wasn’t saturated in the noodles! The What Noodles filled me to but not to a point where I felt stuffed!!!

I’ve also found the best tasting snacks lately! When I am  craving a sweet or my stomach starts grumbiling, I opt for one of these:

Image

Cheddar & Herb Crackers from Target

 Image

Can we say delicious! The Crackers, 18 are only 140 calories, then the Almond Dream Bars, while they are small, 1 equals 100 calories and keeps my sweet tooth at a distant! I just found out about the crackers, and Dr. Oz recommended the Almond Bars! Both great choices you should try! It isn’t about giving up things, it’s about having them in moderation!!!!!!

What snacks do you recommend that are delicious? How is your weight loss coming along? Keep trucking and staying motivated! You’ll get there and so will I!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

Patty’s Day & More

20 Mar

Gosh it seems like it’s been forever and I have so much to tell you!
I created a post on Friday but apparently, it never was published (thanks horrible phone!)
Therefore, I’m going to have to wrap up my adventures since Friday!!

Friday-
Had a wonderful half day at work! It included a festive lunch at Copelands with my beautiful co workers which included some special treats of everything against my diet but it was still in moderation and awesome! Our waiter had this raspy voice that just kept us entertained!

Afterwards, I was able to get my hair done! It looks fabulous and full thanks to my wonderful stylist and hairfinity!
 Image

Afterwards, I went to Dillard’s “Fit for a Cure” event. This is a bra fitting event where Dillard’s donates $2 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for every woman fitted in the store and an additional $2 for every bra purchased. Let me tell you, I thought I was wearing the right size bra, the right kind, and BOY WAS I WRONG!! After being properly fitted, I spent about 130 for 3 bras but it was TOTALLY worth it. For one, I think the “girls” look so much better, and I encourage you to let every woman you know that it is IMPERATIVE to get a proper fitting bra! I wish I could go more in depth on this subject, but Maybe Ill do that in a V log who knows! Ill just say this, a proper fitting bra will do wonders for women and make you look great! ESPECIALLY, if you are sporting a large chest like I am! If your bra doesn’t do the following things, it’s just all wrong:

I know it may seem like a lot of info, but it’s important ladies.

Saturday-
I enjoyed a relaxing Saturday morning, then went to eat with my husband at this place called, Cheers. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy a great conversation with my hubby along with some great food. They had these really tasty Potato Skins that were to die for!

Image

Pure Yumminess 🙂

Saturday night, we celebrated with friends for St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t particularly own a lot of green, so I opted for my green in my eye shadow! Of course it was splendid!

Hectic Work, Heavy Heart, Losing Sam

15 Mar

It’s been awhile hasn’t it folks?
I apologize but it’s been pretty hectic on my end.
For one, I had a big site visit at my job that I was getting ready for.
Secondly, I got sick on Sunday (From what I still don’t know?)
Then,I got some terrible news on Sunday night.

See what I mean? A lot going on.

When I was a teenager, I use to work at Chuck E. Cheese. First job and it was a great one!
I got to make some money, make people smile, and interact with kids. I had a manager at the time, who had two beautiful little girls who would come in and have a good time. I became very fond of one of those little girls, and she even came to my house once, and we made these cute little jewelry boxes. Well their mom stopped working there, and I kinda lost touch with the girls, but I always thought about them, especially the oldest. Well I’ve always wondered about them and was so excited to finally find Sam earlier this year on FB! We started talking, she told me she was now 20 years old, engaged to be married, and a new mom! She was looking forward to going back to school and eventually hopefully working in a day care. We talked about how much fun we had when she was younger, and how great it was that we finally caught up with one another. Well Sunday night, someone contacted me and let me know that she was accidentally shot while someone was cleaning a gun.

I gasped, and then immediately I was heartbroken. I went back and looked at our recent conversations, where she said “I love and miss u”, and the last thing, “I gotta go, ttyl.”

I couldn’t sleep Sunday night. I woke up in the middle of the night, with tears in my eyes, and I told my husband, “It just bothers me. It really really bothers me”.  I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if it’s because I feel as if I just found her and her time was cut short. I don’t know if it’s because I simply think it’s unfair. I don’t know what it is. But it bothers me. Tremendously. I don’t know if it’s because I knew the potential Sam had, because I knew she had so many dreams, she loved being a mom to her 4 month old little girl, or if I just feel as if we’ve been deprived. Either way, It’s still a bit unreal to me. Crazy thing is, we weren’t super close, but I cared for her, and had high hopes for her. I don’t know. I just know I’m sure going to miss our chats.

Image

R.I.P. Samantha 😦

So the work load has been hectic and the heart has been heavy. Tomorrow I’m getting off half a day and I promise to share with you all the wonderful things that I’ve discovered and the great things going on in my life. I’m sure you would love to know. For now, today is the day the beautiful Samantha Reynolds lay to rest. For those who knew her, she was such a doll. So fun, So full of life. I can still hear her laughter and see her giddy smile she had as a child. I remember we would go off in our own little world and sne’d want it to be just us two, although I thought her sister was just as precious!

For now, we will always cherish the memories and the moments.

Until Next Time Mrs. Spj

Quick, But Cute

9 Mar

Hey Friends!

Yes! It’s Friday! Thank God! I need a break from this place they call “work”.
On Fridays, I’m typically very casually dressed and because I work out in the morning on those days, I usually have to get ready in a quick hurry!

So today, my look is very simple and I managed to even add a little spice to my face despite the lack of time. That goes to show you, that even though you may not have a lot of time, you can make time. Check  Out my look for the day:

Image

As you see, I have no foundation on, However I took the time to put on some Bare Minerals Eye Shadow, Candy Cane Lip Gloss, Eye Liner, and Mascara! This took not even 5 minutes, and I was out the door!

Image

See it didn’t take much at all! I wanted you all to see these items so that you can see you can create this look for yourself as well! You can use a pretty sheer color for an all over eye color, your favorite black liner (I LOVE Sephora’s Brand!). Makeup Forever’s Extra Black Mascara I have fallen in love with and it really opens up my eyes! After that, all you need to do is add the lip gloss that you love! I love this Candy Cane Lip Gloss from Philosophy. It makes your lips tingle and feel very moisturized!!

While I’ve shared with you some great products, I more importantly want you to remember to take time for yourself. If you don’t take time for yourself to look some what presentable, you will see yourself in a mirror at some point throughout the day, and question why you allowed yourself to come to work like that! Not to mention, when you take a little time for yourself to look better, it makes you feel better. I’m not saying you have to put on a certain brand or wear makeup all the time, but I’m saying just put forth the effort for yourself. You will be happy you did 🙂

That’s it for now! Hope you liked this quick fabulous look! It’s all about being comfortable with yourself and just simply enhancing your natural beauty! You definitely have it!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂
