Walking 4 Life

4 Jul

So if you’ve read my blog, you know That I’ always looking to lose weight and be healthy… Well my hubby says there are a few reasons why I don’t get results:

1. I don’t drink enough water
2. I don’t EAT enough
3. I don’t workout “right” (whatever that means)

So I open my big mouth Sunday morning and say, “Let’s go walking” of course my hubby replies, “SURE!” I think part of me was hoping he said no, but I thought you know what, I need to get a workout in anywho… Well we started out about 10 30 and let me tell you, IT WAS SUPER HOT. I had thought about getting Sunscreen lotion, but figured we wouldn’t be out there long so I didn’t need it. He gave me the tasks of drinking a bottle of water before we got back.

Let’s GO!

I thought, why not take a lovely pictures of us before I look like crap! I was ready to go!Well not really, but kinda sorta. I even had a cute girly cap on that says “One Tough Chic”

So we started up the road we live off, and let me tell you, that’s quite a hill there but you find a lot of hills everywhere here. I immediately felt the heat, but I kept goin and took a few sips of water here and there. I kept looking at my hubby as he just walked as if this was nothing. What he didn’t know is that deep down inside I was feeling it. I kept thinking I walk so much faster on a treadmill but this walking around is killing me!

Anywho, we went up the street and then down another street, by the time we got around, the heat was BEATING ME in my back. Let me give you a little brief history of me and heat, WE DON’T MIX. I start feeling dizzy and the dreaded “HEAT HEADACHE” started. UGH! Then for a second I didn’t think I’d make it, my hubby (who was way ahead of me at this point) stops and once I catch up to him, he starts walking backwards saying, “Come on, you can do it! You are almost there”. While I appreciated it, part of me wanted to scream, “Shut up and turn around”.. But I wanted him there more than anything and I really apprecated it… Well when I saw my home in sight, I started pushing myself more, and had finished the water.

Let’s just say, I was WIPED OUT!

Not happy

                                           Ultimately, I found myself here:

So much for the one tough chic hat and act at that. However I was very thankful for my comfy tennis shoes to take me on the ride. Let me tell you, Great shoes make a difference. I’m so thankful that my lovely Ash10 from http://abadamson.blogspot.com/ told me about Easy Runner and the difference having good shoes makes. Let me tell you, she’s so right! My shoes were a bit pricey, but it makes working out pretty awesome!

Although walking sucked, I must admit it was a good workout. Oh minus the added touch! I Freaked out a bit when I went to take a shower and found my arms and body looked like this:

I know it’s just Tan lines, but you see I try and stay away from Tans, not to mention I’m in a wedding NEXT WEEKEND! Yes! So I’m thinking strapless dress and these freakin lines! They weren’t even cute bathing suit lines, they were lines that showed I had on a regular bra, sports bra, and tank top.lol… Just sayin..

Anywho, we went walking again this morning and it was a bit easier due to the overcast, however I wasn’t prepared for the bigger hill we went on this morning… I kept trying to pace myself and I noticed my hubby was farther in front of me despite the fact I thought I was moving at a pretty good pace..I didn’t stop once like I did the day before, so I was proud of that one fact myself!

Anywho, it was a good workout. I finished today with some walking on the treadmill and some abs…. My body aches, but I don’t have the crazy headache like I did from yesterday! Thank God for cool weather! Anywho, happy fourth!

Remember today is the day of Independence and Freedom! So do something for yourself! Break Free of something! Claim something! DO SOMETHING! I’ve always committed to always being active and doing what is positive. I need to incorporate some new things to take my workout to the next level. So I’ve decided to Walk. I’m Walking for Life! I’ve committed to walking twice a week in my neighborhood along with my current workout regimen. I’m also going to spend tie with things that matter and people that matter. Yeah… I’m doing what it takes to have the best life ever.. The only thing I vow to not be independent from is God himself. But we all know there is freedom that comes with God…

That’s all for now. Love ya!

Until Next Time, Much Love,

Mrs. SPJ 🙂

P.S. I look forward to working out this week without the pain of sweat getting in my eyelid due to my stitches….. Let me tell ya sunscreen and sweat and a stitched eye don’t work well together. But its cool. I get my stitches out tomorrow! Woop Woop!
